It makes life so much more enjoyable with a rabbit at your side rather than your rabbit couped up in a cage. Place shredded newspaper at the bottom or Yesterdays News, Cell Sorb, or Gentle Touch. Do not purchase any clumping or clay brands, they are very toxic. Also, scented litter is bad choice.
Take a urin soaked piece of paper and place it in the box. This should evaluate their area for doing their business. If they continue to go in a different area, remove the box from the old area to where they have been going recently.
Once they have successfully used their litter box, give them a little more freedom. Put them in one room. It must be rabbit safe and preferably with a tile floor. You may continue to encourage your pet to use the litter box. Please do not yell or punish your rabbit; instead, lure him into the box. Yelling and punishing does not work well. Keep giving your rabbit more and more freedom. If he still does not use his litter box, start all over again from the cage. If you decide to move the litter box, you must start all over again too.
